My daughter has survived a liver transplant. My daughter has survived lymphoma. She has to wait two years from last June before she can be placed on the kidney transplant list. That will be June 2027. She will probably have to wait another two years to get a kidney. Can she do it? Yes. She’s a strong person who has really beaten so many odds life has thrown her way. One day, she asked me why everything happened to her. Was she reading my mind? I had thought the exact same thing.
I explained to her that her liver had caused her kidneys to get worn out. Then I explained again about the lymphoma being caused by the new liver because it had had a virus the doctor’s couldn’t detect. So, one thing has led to the other. My daughter has had some ups and downs lately, but she is still making it. Low hemoglobin brought down her already low kidney number. Yesterday, it went up after she had a transfusion of blood last week. She is swelling a lot lately, so dialysis may be in our future.
The transplant doctor told me I need to find a person to make a live donation in order to transplant her sooner. This has been on my mind so much. I just can’t go up to people and ask them for their kidney! I have been asking the good Lord to help guide me with this. I thank God for the best doctors ever. They are so on it, and anytime I have a question, I get an answer the same day.
Dealing with all of my daughter’s illnesses has been hard because she doesn’t always understand due to her autism. I’m just doing the best that I can and taking one day at a time, and so is she.
Later…
