I heard that the government might reopen soon. This just blows my mind. How can you just shut down the government? What if educators just decided to shut down schools because they did not agree with something? I know that school would be closed often because there are always reasons for disagreement. Why are the American people the victims of the government’s disagreements?

Honestly, certain politicians look like they are toddlers with their ranting and raving. Be professional! I really agree with term limits. Some of these folks should have gone to Hollywood to be bad actors with all of their drama. They were getting paid while they are on hiatus probably in some warm and sunny climate while some of the American people were not getting paid because the government was “Not Open”. What is wrong with that picture? Lots!

What if schools closed because the weatherman said it was going to snow…but it didn’t? What if schools closed because the cooks forgot to thaw the chicken nuggets? What if teachers didn’t like the topic of their professional development? What if schools closed because the bus drivers wanted to sleep late? All of these things would never happen because solutions would be found. We’d go to school if no snow had fallen. Teachers would attend the professional development they were required to attend because it was expected and part of their job. The drivers would have to drive their buses or get a sub because it is expected, and the cooks would have to find something else to feed the students. Sometimes we don’t always like the solutions, but we still have to make things work! There were times when I did not agree with something I had to do (like state testing), but I did it because it was my job. Open the government and find solutions respectfully. Good grief.
