I went to see Leanne Morgan, whose sitcom came out on Netflix this week, at the Ohio State Fair. I laughed so hard. She was so real, and her comedy hit so close to home! Laughter indeed is the best medicine as my anxiety went on vacation during that hour and a half.
The real stress and anxiety were in the parking lot. My oldest daughter drove around the parking lot at least thirty times. We finally found a person leaving after thirty solid minutes of driving around. The lady driving the parked car pointed at us and asked if we wanted her spot. We nodded yes and gave a thumbs up. We were positioned to pull in from the opposite direction and then straighten the vehicle up. It was at the end, thank goodness. Just before the lady backed up, another small SUV pulled up just past her and waited. He had just arrived. I told my daughter that he was going to try and get that spot. I was right. The lady backing out gave us the space to pull in, but this dude was backing up and going to hit us. He was not even looking. My daughter beeped the horn at least three times before he stopped. When he did, he got out of the car and started yelling at us with his hands held up to the Heavens. He told us that was HIS spot and that he was going to call the police on us plus a few other things. My daughter waved him off and told him to get out of there! Our doors and windows were locked. He sped off in a hostile manner. I worried he might have a weapon. He was pretty mad and was not holding back! I was a little uneasy. We inspected the vehicle when we came back from the show. Luckily, all was fine and we continued to laugh about our refusal to be bossed around by this dude. We were the victors that evening!
I really need to go to these kinds of shows more often. I saw the Eagles Tribute band in the spring and that was so good as well. I’d better get busy with reservations!
Later…
