I have two little helpers today. One is going to help with the puppy when she goes to the vet for shots. The seven-year-old granddaughter told me, “She couldn’t take it” if the puppy had shots. She said she was going to put her hands over the top of her ears and close her eyes. Then she proceeded to demonstrate what she was going to do. She wanted to know if the pup was going to cry. I told her she might whimper and demonstrated. She proudly announced that she hadn’t had to get shots at her check-up this morning. She reported that she would not have to get shots til she was eleven!
The younger granddaughter, 5, was being a busy body around the house and then was playing with the puppy. The puppy got hold of her beautiful long brunette hair and was trying to eat it. My granddaughter was laughing so hard and rolling on the ground as much as the puppy. I don’t know who enjoyed the tussle more, the granddaughter or the puppy. After a while, my granddaughter wandered into the kitchen. She brought my silver earring that had been lying on the counter over to me, proclaiming, “Grandma, you need your hearing!” I just smiled and said, “Yes, I do!” (especially in my right ear, I thought!). In about half an hour, she asked for an ice cream cone. I told her ok. I was finishing up something at the desk. About fifteen minutes later, she asked, “Grandma, did you put your hearing on? I want an ice cream cone.” HAHA. My dear, these are not Kamala’s hearing earrings!
